Sahitya Sammelan in San Francisco Bay Area
A New
Experiment Beyond Seven Seas.
I got an
opportunity to peep into the minds of the hard working Committee of
Maharashtra Mandal Bay Area (MMBA) and I discovered the very
purpose of these courageous “Knights” of Marathi Community here in
Bay Area behind their plan of hosting “1st
Jagatik Sahitya Sammelan” in San Francisco Bay Area on 14th,
15th & 16th February 2009.
We all are living
in the 21st century today. In last nearly two decades
the whole equation, mathematics and dynamics of the whole world has
drastically changed due to innovations in science and technology.
Today not only in 24 hours one can go from one corner of the world
to the other; but in less than 24 seconds one can see the other
person in the other corner of the world and exchange thoughts and
ideas.
So in today’s
revolutionary advanced world if the “World of Literature”
meets the “World of Science & Technology” it will undoubtedly
benefit the “World of Literature”. Literature can cross the
boundaries and reach in all the corners of the world. Technology
can reach the Literature to all the segments of a community; be it a
working class or business class.
Having said all
this, if our own Marathi Literature needs the support and boost from
Technology to reach every part of the world where our fellow
Maharashtrians are working hard to preserve our Marathi Culture;
which other place than Silicon Valley can be the best place for
doing Shri Ganesha?

MMBA and his Committee Members for launching this daring
experiment.
I would like to
render my full support to Sandeep & his team & I look forward to put
in my contribution “Kharicha Vata” to make this
Sammelan a grand success on my “Base Ground”.
